SINGAPORE, JANUARY 2020 - Trillia Networks is pleased to announce it has joined the UN Global Compact initiative – a leadership platform for the development, implementation and disclosure of responsible business practices. The announcement signals the company’s commitment to sustainability, not just as a technology enabler, but also as a leader.
The UN Global Compact (UNGC) aims to mobilise a global movement of committed sustainable companies and stakeholders by calling on companies everywhere to align their strategies and operations with ten universally accepted principles in the areas of human rights, labour, environment and anti-corruption. Additionally, the UNGC calls on businesses to take action in support of UN goals and issues embodied in the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), with an emphasis on collaboration and innovation along with strategic actions on how to advance them.
Support and participation in the UNGC is a natural fit for Trillia Networks, which is pioneering marketplace ecosystems through sustainable business models, that solves market access problems and increases revenue, savings and social impact in the public and private sector. Trillia actively aligns its business goals with the UN SDGs, particularly in regards to goals 3 (Good Health and Well-Being), 11 (Sustainable Cities and Communities), 12 (Responsible Consumption and Production) and 17 (Partnerships).
Dinuke Ranasinghe, Chief Executive Officer of Trillia Networks, stated: “We support the belief that sustainability begins with a principles-based approach to doing business and is individual companies’ responsibility to act accordingly. In line with our commitment to these principles, Trillia Networks is proud to continuously strive to achieve a sustainably-conscious business ourselves and promote these principles within our wider network ecosystem. On the ground, companies face unique challenges to operating responsibly and have different opportunities to make a positive impact.”
Launched in 2000, the UN Global Compact is the largest corporate sustainability initiative in the world, with more than 9,500 companies and 3,000 non-business signatories in over 160 countries and more than 70 local networks. With this announcement, Trillia Networks is proud to join these thousands of other companies globally committed to taking responsible business action to create a world we all want.
As a Participant of the initiative, Trillia Networks has a dedicated profile on the UN Global Compact website, where you can learn more about their latest sustainability work.
